Webrune is an UNOFFICIAL DELTARUNE port for the browser. No install needed.
YOU NEED AN OFFICIAL DELTARUNE COPY TO BE ABLE TO USE WEBRUNE! Webrune does NOT provide any DELTARUNE assets (game data, music, art, etc), everything is from your own game data.
Webrune is a fan project and is not affiliated with Toby Fox or Royal Sciences LLC.
Import your game data to Webrune and play.
Webrune is compatible with the Windows (Steam) version of DELTARUNE Chapter 3 & 4, the DELTARUNE Chapter 5 version, and the DELTARUNE Chapter 1 & 2 DEMO.
You can get the DELTARUNE Chapter 1 & 2 DEMO from itch.io.
Game and saves are stored in your browser's Origin private file system.
Yes! Webrune has an in-game virtual gamepad, so you can play using your touch screen without using any third-party apps or physical controllers.
Yes! However, not all mods work right now. To use mods, mod your DELTARUNE installation on your computer and then select the modded folder in Webrune.

GameMaker has a WebAssembly runner, used for Opera's gx.games website. The WebAssembly runner is based on the GameMaker "C++" (Zeus) codebase, compiled to WebAssembly using Emscripten.
Because it is based on the original desktop runner, games that are compiled to GameMaker VM are compatible with the WebAssembly runner.
Sadly, it isn't as straightforward as "get the game data and throw it into the WebAssembly runner", which is why Webrune uses a patched version of the original WebAssembly runner and a bunch of glue code to make it work as seamlessly as possible.
In the future I want to replace the GameMaker WebAssembly runner with Starfait, so that we can have more control over how the runner behaves instead of trying to workaround all the various quirks of the official runner.
